What is a Passport ??

A passport is a document, issued by a national government to its citizens, which certifies, for the purpose of international travel, the identity and nationality of its holder. 

In other simple words it is the top most national level identity of any individual in his own country.  

The elements of identity are name, date of birth, sex, and place of birth. Most often, nationality and citizenship are congruent.

How it is different from Visa ??

A visa is a document showing that a person is authorized to enter the territory for which it was issued, subject to permission of an immigration official at the time of actual entry. In simple words, it is more commonly a stamp endorsed in the applicant's passport. 

Visa Stamps on Passports

We at Om International, Dahod begin our list of services from Passport Applications. Every state in India has their respective Regional Passport Office (RPO) and  State's Passport Collection centers. 

A passport application can be submitted by an applicant at its respective RPO or Passport Collection Centers by self or by a representative carrying an authority letter duly signed by the applicant as well as by the representative.

Basic checklist of documents required for passport application should include the following:

• Old passport for renewal / cancellation
• Proof date of Birth & place of Birth
• Proof of Residential Address atleast two
• Photo ID atleast two
• Affidavit Annexure I on Rs. 20 stamp paper duely notarized by authority.
• Parents passport application no / passport compulsory for Minor applicant.
• Marriage certificate compulsory for those married in/after year 2006.
• Bonafide from school / college compulsory for students
• Details of two witnesses with Name, Contact no and Address details.

Following is the exact list of documents required passport application:

 0.  Old Passport for renewal / cancellation cases 
1.  Photographs with white Background. (6)  (size – 35 mm  x  35 mm)

2.  Affidavit Annexure I on Rs. 20 Stamp Paper 

3.  School Leaving Certificate

4.  Birth Certificate compulsory for those born on/after 26/1/1989

5.   Address Proof (any two of the following with atleast one of the proof an year old + latest)

• Ration Card 
• Bank Passbook. 
• Light Bill / Telephone Bill
• House Tax Bill 
• Affidavit on Rs. 20 stamp paper if on rental accommodation.

6.  Photo ID Proof (any two of the following)

• Driving License
• Election Card 
• Pan Card.  
• Bank Passbook wtih
• Chief Officer / Talati sanctioned certificate with photograph and official attestation.

7.  Last Degree Certificate.  (10^th +12^th + Degree / Diploma Certificate)

8.  No Objection Certificate.  (for Government and Bank Employees)

9.  Bonafide Certificate if applicant is in school / college.  

10. Marriage Certificate compulsory for those married on/after  01-01-2006 and passport renewal cases.

11. Divorce Certificate.

12. Emergency / Exit Certificate.  (if applicable)

13. For Minor (under 15 years)             

• Birth Certificate
• Parents (Father + Mother) Passport Copy.
• Bonafide Certificate from School.

14. For Married Woman                 

• Marriage Certificate / Affidavit.
• Combined Couple Photograph. (one) (50mm x 70mm)
• Husband’s Passport Copy.
• Husband if dead then Death Certificate.

15. Details of 2 References (witnesses) including their Name, Address, Profession and contact numbers.
